In Western countries, the culture of individual and long term travelers
staying in dormitory hostels is one that has deep roots. The reason why people stay in cheap hostels is not only to save some money but also, we think, to meet with other travelers and exchange information, hang out together and sometimes travel together. We, “THE DORM”, aim to foster such a culture in Japan and we hope all of our guests will enjoy staying in our hostel. Many countries, languages, cultures and people will come together and mix here for the benefit of all. We have a library that contains over 2000 books which cover a wide range of topics from travel, art, architecture and fashion to Manga as sources of inspiration to help connect people. We hope your time at “THE DORM” will make one your traveling that bit more special.“THE DORM” is located in SHINSAIBASHI, the biggest downtown area in Osaka.
There are many interesting things to see and sample as you walk around here. The hostel is close to several famous monuments of Osaka, like Kani-Doraku (a crab adorned restaurant) and the Glico sign. The location is very convenient. “THE DORM” in Osaka is centrally located within Kansai so it has rapid and easy access to the entire KANSAI area, for instance, Kyoto, Nara, Kobe and Wakayama. Traveling around inside Osaka is also convenient and simple too, for example, USJ(Universal Studios Japan), the Osaka Aquarium KAIYUKAN, Osaka Castle, etc…
